Rain Couldn’t Stop Us 🌧️

We’ll be honest — the skies opened up for a solid two hours during the event. But as the saying goes, you can’t rain on our parade! Families kept coming, the energy stayed high, and our booth line stayed steady from start to finish. It was a good reminder that the west metro community is made of tough stuff — and that a little rain never hurt anyone’s smile. ☀️

A Day Well Spent on Medicine Lake

On Sunday, May 31st, thousands of families gathered along the shores of Medicine Lake for a day of outdoor education, live turtle encounters, canoe rides, food trucks, art projects, and so much more. The atmosphere was festive and full of life — with incredible vendors and fellow sponsors like Zaza Pizza and MN Nice Ice Cream keeping everyone fueled and happy (we may have indulged ourselves 🍕🍦).

Our Compass team set up a booth with a spin-the-wheel game and raffle for 50% off comprehensive orthodontic treatment (up to $3,000) plus custom teeth whitening. We also brought along a full collection of Compass merch — frisbees, water bottles, sunglasses, temporary tattoos, and our favorite “no stress” squeeze balls. Every. Single. Item. was claimed by the end of the day. We’d call that a success! 🎉

We loved every conversation — whether families were just starting to think about orthodontics or ready to take the next step toward their smile journey.

Turtles, Learning & Family Fun

One of the highlights of the day was watching the younger generation fall in love with turtles 🐢. The interactive stations hosted by the Minnesota Zoo and Three Rivers Park District Foundation were genuinely incredible — our own kids and their cousins spent time learning about turtle habitats, getting up close with live turtles, and soaking up everything these amazing educators had to share. Events like this are exactly why Three Rivers Park District is such a treasure for our community.

Why Community Outreach Matters to Us

Dr. Adam Sperl and the entire Compass team are proud to call the west metro home. Events like Turtle Fest remind us of why we opened Compass in the first place — to serve families in Medina, Plymouth, Wayzata, Maple Grove, New Hope, Crystal, Brooklyn Park, Golden Valley, and the surrounding Lake Minnetonka community in a way that feels personal, warm, and rooted in real relationships.
